Brief history :
The idea of collecting the
Islamic antiquities first appeared
in 1880 by the Egyptian government
In 1903 the government erected
the current museum which consists
of 25 hall with about 10200
artifacts
It contains antiquities
from Arab countries as well
as non-Arab countries such as
Turkey and Iran
